What Is this Account?
This account is a new type of tax-advantaged savings account created for children under age 18. It functions much like a traditional IRA — money grows tax-deferred - but unlike a regular IRA, the child doesn't need earned income to have one, and it's owned by the child while managed by a parent or guardian until they turn 18.
- Scan the QR code above with your phone camera to open the account's contribution page.
- Annual limit: combined contributions from parents, relatives, friends, and employers are capped at $5,000 per child for 2026 and 2027 (indexed for inflation after that).
- Investments: money in the account is limited to certain low-cost index fund options during the growth period.
